    Weston Field Club, located in the heart of Weston, Connecticut, is a private, member-owned club nestled within beautiful surroundings. Founded over 75 years ago, the club offers a variety of recreational activities including swimming, tennis, paddle, pickleball, trap shooting, summer camps and prides itself on a close-knit community atmosphere. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Building & Grounds Superintendent to join our team. This full-time position plays a key role in the maintenance and upkeep of both the indoor and outdoor areas of the club, ensuring a safe, beautiful, and functional environment for our members and guests.

    Position Overview:

    As the Building & Grounds Superintendent at Weston Field Club, you will oversee both the interior and exterior maintenance of our facilities. From the pristine landscaping that surrounds the club to the well-maintained indoor spaces, your work will ensure that every corner of our club is cared for to the highest standard. You will report directly to the General Manager, collaborating with team members to ensure that all grounds and buildings remain in excellent condition year-round.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Building Maintenance: Perform general building upkeep tasks including routine cleaning, repairs, and maintenance of the club's interior spaces. This may include addressing plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues, ensuring that all systems are running smoothly.

    Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance: Maintain all landscaping and grounds areas, including mowing, trimming, planting, seasonal preparation, and upkeep of pathways and common areas. Your work will ensure that both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our outdoor spaces are of the highest quality.

    Sports Court & Field Preparation: Oversee the setup and maintenance of recreational areas, including tennis courts, pickle and paddle courts, and any other outdoor sports facilities. Ensure that all fields and courts are in optimal condition, ready for member use.

    Irrigation & Watering Systems: Monitor and manage irrigation systems, ensuring proper coverage and efficiency in watering all landscaped areas. Adjust watering schedules as needed based on seasonal requirements and weather patterns.

    Seasonal Cleanup & Preparation: Assist with the transition of the grounds through seasonal changes, such as spring and fall cleanups, mulching, leaf removal, and prepping outdoor spaces for winter.

    Repairs & Maintenance Projects: Assist with various repair and maintenance projects around the building and grounds, working both independently and alongside the General Manager to address any issues as they arise.

    Safety & Compliance: Ensure that the grounds and buildings comply with all safety regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment for both staff and club members.

    Equipment & Tools Maintenance: Keep all groundskeeping equipment, tools, and machinery in proper working order, performing routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.

    Collaborative Communication: Regularly report to the General Manager on the status of the building and grounds, including any areas in need of attention. Work with the team to align maintenance efforts with club events and operations.

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience in both building and groundskeeping maintenance, including landscaping, building repairs, and basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems knowledge.

    Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks related to building and grounds upkeep.

    Experience using groundskeeping equipment and tools, and performing minor repairs.

    Strong attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and a proactive approach to tasks.

    Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with staff and management.

    Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

    A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
