The purpose of this position is to perform and oversee the general maintenance of HVAC systems in City-owned buildings, structures, equipment.
Please Note: An offer of employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a fingerprint screening. If the incumbent fails to obtain clearance through the fingerprint screening, they will not be able to access all necessary City buildings and therefore, may be subject to termination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Supervises HVAC staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring adequate staff training and adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining a safe work environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Ø Oversees work in the field checking for quality and accuracy of work performed.
Ø Coordinates and oversees work of contractors checking for quality and accuracy of work performed.
Ø Lead diagnostician for various HVAC equipment, building components and HVAC building operating systems, performs maintenance, repairs, inspects and installs parts or materials.
Ø Inventories, orders, and procures materials and parts.
Ø Works in field alongside supervised staff, performs administrative duties by answering calls and emails, maintaining time and attendance records, creating maintenance schedules, and maintaining reports and daily logs of work progress.
Ø Secures quotes for repair and replacement of various HVAC equipment, building components and operating systems.
Ø Schedules and performs HVAC repairs and maintenance work.
Ø Responsible for oversight of building HVAC operating systems.
Ø Rotational on-call responsibilities

High school diploma or equivalency and at least six-months of advanced study including the study of and/or repairing of HVAC equipment, with at least five (5) years of relevant and supervisory experience; or the City may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
