JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for building strategic relationships with local workforce development centers, schools, and residential trades and builders (the homebuilder ecosystem). While managing activities and processes related to talent acquisition for skilled trades education programs, and job placement within trade skilled partners.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.
− Engages residential builders and trades to assess labor challenges; identifies hiring and training needs
− Engages workforce development centers and schools to partner with residential construction leaders to ensure training program curriculum alignment with industry needs
− Partners with industry leaders to create new programs such as internships/apprenticeships, mentor programs, industry leaders’ lunch and learns
− Manages the recruitment process from sourcing (job posting), and screening applicants, conducting interviews, checking references and all other relevant aspects of the recruitment and selection process
− Identifies leads, manages prospects and attracts talent to the trades training programs / construction industry
− Assists in increasing student enrollment in construction training programs
− Develops and maintains an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and responds accordingly
− Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the trade’s job and training needs
− Establishes and builds quality relationships with residential trades to build hiring funnels of students
− Develops and executes recruitment strategies and plans with local nonprofits and workforce development organizations to effectively source and recruit specific skill sets with external agencies such as industry associations, technical / trade schools, community colleges, other service organizations
− Develops and implements initiatives such as career fairs, targeted advertising to maximize the pool of potential candidates
− Works in collaboration with the management team to ensure that recruitment processes are developed, implemented, communicated and delivered in support of the recruitment initiatives
− Tracks information regarding all prospective partners: trade organizations, educational/training programs, and other organizations
− Advises management on employment law pertinent to staffing practices in various states
− Reports on field recruitment activities and prepares & reviews to provide insight to success and areas of opportunity
− Maintain and update applicant database/spreadsheet
− Performs other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
− 3 - 5 years of recruiting/staffing and/or sales experience preferred
− Bachelor’s degree preferred
− Experience in (residential) construction required; skilled trades (plumbing, electric, HVAC)
− Superior interpersonal and effective communication skills
− Ability to build quality relationships at all levels of the organization
− Experience with applicant tracking systems and CRM's (Salesforce)
− Strong work ethic and accountability a must
− Ability to effectively multi-task and manage time well
− Knowledge and use of appropriate standardized screening tools and tests
− Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
− Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
