    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Business Acquisition Manager is responsible for developing the overall business strategy for their respective region or market. This strategy will support the Division’s strategic and financial objectives. The Business Acquisition Manager is also accountable for implementing strategic sales objectives, driving top-line growth, meeting sales and revenue goals, and building Southland’s Energy’s brand within their region or market.



    What you’ll do:

    • Creates actionable strategic business plan for the business segment that outlines sales focus (geographic, vertical market, etc.), critical marketing support and appropriate organizational structure to support business goals and expectations.

    • Manages sales activities to ensure that strong customer relationships are established and maintained.

    • Ensures proper CRM usage and provides reporting metrics as needed.

    • Manages business acquisition resources to achieve business objectives. Promotes team selling and expansion of existing relationships into new sales.

    • Supports sales teams in direct selling key/assigned accounts as required and is available as a point of contact for clients.

    • Represents Southland Energy as a leader in the industry/market.

    • Targets key projects and key accounts and develops and implements sales strategies to ensure successful sales.

    • Assists business acquisition team in determining margins, identifying resources and assessing future potential business.

    • Manages sales team’s performance; provides coaching and training to develop skills with each team member

    What you’ll need to be successful:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Excellent leadership skills.

    • Ability to set clear performance expectations, monitor performance, provide timely and meaningful coaching and constructive feedback to direct reports.

    • Highly effective at achieving goals through others by prioritizing, delegating tasks to appropriate staff and ensuring individual and team accountability.

    • High level of business acumen and ability to support solutions that benefit the client’s business.

    • Highly effective at prioritizing, managing deadlines, and adhering to project schedules.

    • Ability to accomplish goals through collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

    • Ability to negotiate and sell relevant services that benefit Southland and the client.

    • Excellent understanding of third-party financing sales and contractual processes involving performance based energy and infrastructure solutions.

    Internal

    • Builds relationships with Business Development resources in our E&C divisions to share expertise, share and leverage each other’s relationships, grow target markets, and identify opportunities to create synergy.

    • Collaborates with peers within the division to share best practices.

    • Collaborates with Marketing to create marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, differentiate in the market and generate leads in identified market segments.

    External

    • Maintains relationships with high-ranking industry stakeholders and decision makers to build brand visibility and help drive sales.

    • Maintains relationships with consultants, contractors, utilities, etc. to create partnerships & teaming agreements that better position us in a specific vertical market.

    • Conducts meetings and discussions with decision makers, policy makers, partners, government officials, legislative officials, and competitors to stay current on industry developments.

    • Maintains a leadership presence for Southland Energy in key industry and market organizations.

    LEADERSHIP

    • Supervises and leads direct reports, including performance management, coaching and development.

    • Leads business process improvement by developing and implementing policies as applicable for the business segment.

    • Makes decisions and resolves issues on a regular basis.

    • Promotes and models behaviors that support Southland Energy’s core values.

    What you bring to the table:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business or other applicable field.

    • 5+ years of experience in the applicable business segment with proven sales record, including 2+ years’ people management.
