    The Business Development team is currently seeking an intern who is fluid in Excel and data management to enhance the Business Development efforts for Valmark using various inbound marketing solutions such as HubSpot, and other digital and physical marketing platforms to discover new leads and track existing leads.

    Job Summary:

    Within this position, the Business Development Intern will be given the opportunity to collaborate on interdepartmental projects, including those of the Executive team. In this position, the intern will be responsible for data management within the CRM system and the assessment of marketing campaign performance. The overall goal is to devise marketing strategies, assist in their execution, and monitor initiatives and campaigns to transition marketing qualified leads into sales qualified leads while also identifying fresh sales opportunities.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive data in Valmark’s internal CRM system
    • Conduct in depth research, data retrieval and cross referencing, in preparation for events, marketing initiatives or upon request
    • Assist the Sr. Director of Business Development in converting MQLs to SQLs, and generating new SQLs
    • Process online marketing and sales funnels that capture leads for the Business Development department
    • Measure and track Business Development activities using software such as HubSpot to find best practices and new strategies for lead generation
    • Manage and report on qualified leads from the use of digital platforms, QR code tracking, physical mail campaigns, email campaigns, social media, landing pages, etc., that are relevant to Business Development
    • Collaborate on interdepartmental projects between IT, Communications and Business Development, Executive teams to ensure deadlines are met

    Requirements:

    Must be a student and currently enrolled in college seeking a degree. Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, Data Analysis, or Finance are preferred, but not required. Must be available to commit 15-25 hours per week during the spring/fall semesters and 25-40 hours per week during the summer months.
