    Position Summary

    The Business Development Manager will drive growth by expanding our client base and developing strategic partnerships in the optics industry. This role requires both optical technology expertise and proven business success in high-tech markets. You will be instrumental in executing our market strategy and achieving revenue targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    Revenue Growth & Business Development

    Create and implement strategies to expand the Optopax customer base and enter new markets

    Lead sales initiatives to meet revenue targets - including pricing strategy development, sales forecasting, and budget planning

    Identify and prioritize high-value opportunities, managing the full sales cycle from initial prospect to deal closure

    Build and maintain relationships with major clients while developing a robust pipeline of qualified prospects

    Negotiate favorable contracts and strengthen long-term client partnerships through proactive account management

    Develop targeted marketing materials and value propositions tailored to specific market segments

    Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with OEMs, system integrators, and industry partners

    Technical Leadership & Customer Solutions

    Partner with engineering and product teams to create custom solutions, providing guidance on customer requirement and trade-offs

    Maintain deep knowledge of CMOS cameras, infrared systems, optical lenses, and CMI manufacturing

    Lead all client communications and relationship management as primary point of contact

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Optics, Physics, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred

    5-7+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within optics, photonics, or high-tech sector

    Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical environment

    Technical Skills and Knowledge

    Strong technical knowledge of optical systems, components, and applications

    Understanding of CMOS and infrared cameras, optical lenses, and CMI manufacturing processes

    Proficiency in Google Workspace applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software

    Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively

    Professional Competencies

    Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

    Strategic mindset with hands-on approach to driving results

    Ability to manage complex sales cycles and build relationships with senior stakeholders

    Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

    Adaptability and comfort with managing undefined activities and shifting priorities

    Additional Requirements

    Must have existing authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)

    Willing and able to travel internationally as needed

    Preference for candidates based in the Bay Area, CA

    Preferred Qualifications

    Existing network of contacts in relevant industries

    Familiarity with ISO standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements

    Camera and optical system knowledge, particularly in test stations and LWIR testing components
