Real World Technologies (RWT) is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Representative to generate qualified leads for our senior sales team. The successful applicant will have an entrepreneurial vision, recognizing opportunities and being willing to work hard to achieve success.
As an ideal applicant you will have at least five years of outside sales experience in the safety and security industry, with at least two of those years being in sales management. Prior sales experience should include generating your own leads through scientific market analysis. A very high percentage of your initial contacts should have been cold calls, with qualification of the customer’s potential occurring early in the process.
Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential for this position. The applicant should know the difference between formal, informal and casual communication, and be able to select from all three types as appropriate for your audience and situation. Robust social media knowledge and experience are required for this position, particularly with LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. You should be able to produce effective posts and campaigns as well as regularly author blog and vlog content.
This position calls for a “people person” who has good recall of names, faces, prior contacts and personal details of customers and coworkers. The applicant should also be able to help people feel comfortable with them, so friendliness, confidence and active listening are basic requirements. Creativity and adaptability are also important, as the successful applicant will need to be able to produce original ideas to generate interest and overcome resistance.

We projected $2 million in sales for 2024, but we are on track to surpass that significantly by the end of this year.
