Job Description
As the Business Development Sales Manager you will work in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing team, to drive sales and revenue for accommodation, meetings, events, along with food & beverage. Your responsibilities will include:
Lead Management: Group team market coverage in the absence of Sales Managers. This coverage will include all size bookings in excess of 8 rooms on peak for all market segments. Logging of lead information into Opera Cloud system, loading room and meeting specifics based on needs expressed in lead and using space and revenue maximization guidelines. Preparing proposals and client follow up details as well as managing the direct sales effort with the client and the hand over back to the Sales Manager.
Conduct prospecting efforts to continue to build pipeline of business opportunities for hotel. Prospecting efforts to primarily be telephone based with potential for participation in market blitzes or other local trade shows or client networking events.
Assist with Site Visits for remote sellers when they are unable to participate (to include setting up guestroom and restaurant reservations, amenities, inviting partners to site inspection (Audio Visual and DMC).
Relationship management with outside catering venues to maximize guest room block opportunities and referral potential.
Organize monthly team wide prospecting activities.
Assist in maintaining an accurate client and account database in Opera Cloud and adherence to all Accor system standards.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: A Bachelor of Arts degree or college diploma is required. Progressive experience in a similar capacity is a definite asset. College course work in related field is helpful.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: Must possess a working knowledge of personal computers. Understanding of Opera Software and hotel Property Management Systems is helpful. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software. Ability to assemble and understand integrated spreadsheets.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Sedentary work. Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects, and long hours sometimes may be required.
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
