Objective
The Business Development Specialist is an office-based position that is primarily responsible for the support, advocacy, servicing and pull-through for designated territories and/or accounts. The main objective is to increase new patient referrals for AleraCare AICs in the defined territory. The Business Development Specialist will manage relationships with referring physician practices for patients requiring an alternate site of care for treatments. This role will require cross-team collaboration within AleraCare.
Essential Duties
- The Business Development Specialist is responsible for educating physician practices including all relevant stakeholders within the practice, of the benefits of AleraCare AICs to increase new patient referrals of targeted therapies within the defined territory.
- Partner with field-based Account Executives to support target accounts.
- Engage with key accounts to establish office needs and execute accordingly to ensure strong relationships.
- Utilizes phone, e-mail, and fax as primary communication vehicles.
- Establish self as central point of contact for existing physician referral sources within the defined territory.
- This position regularly calls on individual and group healthcare practices. As a successful candidate, you should understand and apply knowledge of the healthcare industry, trends, applicable laws and regulations, market conditions, and the managed health care environment into business plans and in daily execution of sales calls within compliance guidelines.
- You will demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of AleraCare services, processes, and benefits.
- You will develop a fundamental knowledge of the disease states and pharmaceutical products we offer.
- Consistently perform all assigned administrative responsibilities.
- The Business Development Specialist will utilize Business Intelligence (“BI”) information, sales dashboards, CRM, and other tools for performance-based reports.
- Perform e-mail and fax-based marketing campaigns including education and awareness, initiatives, new products, and services.
- Manage provider relationships and keep detailed records of all activity.
- This position will support the Field Account Executives and designated accounts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
- Candidates should have a minimum experience of 2 years of sales experience.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with different departments throughout the organization.
- Applies a range of traditional and non-traditional problem-solving techniques to think through and solve issues creatively to improve performance and company effectiveness.
- Ability to build rapport and relationships in an institutional environment to make an immediate impact for health care professionals.
- Highly effective organizational skills to balance multiple priorities.
- Candidates should have experience influencing individual and group medical provider organizations as well as knowledge of managed care markets.
- Must be ambitious with the ability to self-motivate to exceed goal objectives.
- Computer Skills; MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM, and Outlook. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass background, motor, and drug screen investigations.
Educational Qualifications

Compensation: Base salary of $65,000 plus quarterly bonuses, and benefits package. Incentive Pay: Quarterly bonus of $7,500 at plan (100% to goal) **
