  • Responsibilities

    USPI Pearland Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Business Office Specialist join our team. We have 2 main OR rooms and 2 minor OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, ENT, Urology, Colorectal, General, Plastic, Pain Management, GI Endoscopy. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

    Job Summary: The Business Office Specialist interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff. Admit patients and process their paperwork. Update patient demographics/information in system. Collect monies due and document in billing system. Handle funds per office procedure. You have the opportunity to meet new people and build professional relationships with physician offices. Cross training for other Business Office positions a possibility.

    Required Skills

    Qualifications:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Minimum of two years' previous experience within healthcare required
    • Minimum of one year experience in an Ambulatory Surgery environment strongly desired.
    • Must have the skills necessary to operate office equipment that are required to fulfill job duties.
    • Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
    • Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
    • Bilingual preferred.
    • Good communication skills.
