Job Summary: The Medical Business Office Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the medical office business functions. - Staff Management:
* Supervise and train administrative staff, including but not limited to, insurance verification specialists and billing specialists.
* Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
* Schedule staff shifts and manage attendance.
- Revenue Cycle Management:
* Oversee billing, coding, and collections processes to ensure timely reimbursement.
* Monitor accounts receivable and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances.
* Work with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and denials.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
* Develop and implement office policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
* Conduct regular audits to assess adherence to established protocols.
- Patient Relations:
* Address patient inquiries and resolve issues related to billing and scheduling.
* Foster a positive patient experience by ensuring staff are trained in customer service excellence.
- Reporting and Analysis:
* Prepare and present reports on office performance, financial metrics, and patient satisfaction.
* Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to operations.
- Collaboration:
* Work closely with healthcare providers and administrative teams to ensure seamless operations.
* Participate in meetings and collaborate on strategic planning initiatives.
Required Experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical office setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and insurance processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and practice management software.
