Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Business Solutions Analyst to perform business systems analysis and support the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved business information systems. The ideal candidate will apply analytical processes to meet the evolving business requirements of customer organizations, acting as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct needs analyses to identify opportunities for new or enhanced business process solutions.
- Perform business process reengineering and feasibility studies, including trade-off analyses.
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to define functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for development teams.
- Develop functional and system requirements, including business cases for IT solutions.
- Define system scope, objectives, and cost estimates for new or modified systems.
- Ensure integration of system components such as policies, procedures, training materials, databases, software, and hardware.
- Conduct performance and reliability testing of new business solutions.
- Support systems implementation activities and provide post-implementation support.
- Ensure compliance with information security/information assurance policies, principles, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects.
- At least three (3) years of experience specifically in business systems analysis and design.
- Bachelor's degree required (additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis).
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of structured analysis principles and systems analysis methods.
- Proficiency in cost-benefit analysis, IT architecture, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with systems design tools, automated analysis, and design techniques.
- Experience in business process engineering and identifying IT-driven improvements.
- Understanding of life cycle management, IT governance, and emerging technologies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare detailed reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in systems integration projects within government or large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of business workflows and operations in customer-centric organizations.
- Background in performance testing, risk assessment, and security compliance.
