    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Business Systems Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing the technology and systems that support the operations of Feeding San Diego. This role will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing efficient business systems that improve the management of food sourcing, distribution, inventory, logistics, and reporting. The analyst will collaborate with various teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, ensure data accuracy, and support strategic initiatives that maximize our impact.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prioritize and fulfill reporting and analysis requests, including regular and ad-hoc reports for internal teams and Feeding America National Organization.
    • Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert (SME) for the ERP system
    • Query and mine complex data sets to explore data, discover patterns, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
    • Proactively partner with COO and colleagues to identify innovative solutions using data to improve operational efficiency.
    • Develop and apply expertise with a variety of data platforms and reporting/query tools including Ceres, Jet Reports, Jet Analytics, AE3, SQL and AI. Coach others on usage/best practices.
    • Lead data quality improvement processes and resolve data issues.
    • Conduct training sessions and offer support to staff on system usage. Hold open office hours for questions/answers.
    • Manage analytics projects, presenting unbiased findings and actionable recommendations.
    • Develop, apply, and maintain standard data and reporting practices to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports and departments.
    • Manage the monthly and annual KPI reporting for FSD; ensure reports are organized and stored properly for historical reference
    • Uphold F SD data security and privacy policies.
    • Serve as the main contact for external data system support; attend regular meetings with Feeding America support team.
    • Other duties, as assigned

    INTERACTION

    This position will interact closely with the CEO, the senior leadership team, staff consultants/contractors, distribution center, partner agencies, and corporate representatives. The position also requires frequent interaction with all FSD staff and volunteers of our community.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (Business, Statistics, Information Systems, Math, Computer Science) along with 3+ years of professional data analytics experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Highly proficient with reporting and data tools (e.g., MS Excel, SQL, Tableau, Oracle Analytics, Jet Analytics). Pivot tables and VLOOKUP experience required.
    • Proven experience with ERP/WMS/ITSM systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, ServiceNow, Ceres)
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize and interpret patterns and anomalies in data and generate insight and solutions
    • Skilled in data extraction, blending, and report/dashboard design
    • Strategic mindset - understands the impact of analysis work on business processes and goals; Incorporates this knowledge when developing recommendations
    • Well-organized, with exceptional attention to accuracy, detail, and follow through
    • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to consult and influence business decisions
    • Ability to build collaborative professional relationships
    • Self-Managing with strong prioritization skills
    • Comfortable taking on unfamiliar work and seeking out knowledge/solutions

    TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

    Personal computer, multi-line phone, copier, and printer.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

    Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Agency’s insurance carrier standards.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

    • * Work in an office adjacent to a warehouse setting with occasional travel to other locations in San Diego County.
      
      • Prioritizes and multi-task work and projects requiring good memory, concentration, and analytical thinking.
      • Occasionally required to perform the safe operation of office equipment and machines and recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace.
      • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but this office is maintained in a distribution center with machinery and large trucks.

    PAY & HOURS

    $80,000 - $95,000

    Hybrid - M, T, TH in FSD office and W & F remote
