Business Systems Analyst
Background:
Our client operates retail stores and recently acquired 34 additional stores that will be integrated leveraging all-new technology solutions, implemented via a multi-year program. Tesoro Group is adding several roles to this multi-year program with consultants on long-term contracts as well as consultants who may be interested in permanent positions with our client.
Overview:
As a Business Systems Analyst specializing in retail sector, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our workforce processes and systems. Your primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders from various departments to analyze, design and implement our new workforce management solution that enhance productivity, streamline operations, and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering:
- Work closely with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements related to workforce management processes, including scheduling, time tracking, labor and forecasting.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, ensuring clarity, completeness, and feasibility.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design innovative solutions that address business needs while leveraging existing systems and technologies where possible.
- Solution Design.
- Systems Integration:
- Facilitate the integration of workforce management systems with other business systems such as HRIS, payroll, and inventory management to ensure data consistency and seamless operation across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within workforce management workflows.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to drive operational efficiency, cost savings, and employee satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including business leaders, end-users, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop test plans, execute testing activities, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate the functionality and performance of workforce management systems.
- Ensure that solutions meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop training materials and deliver training sessions to end-users to facilitate the adoption of new workforce management systems and processes.

- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, business processes, and user manuals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum three years) as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role, with a focus on workforce management solutions in the grocery retail industry.
- In-depth knowledge of workforce management principles, methodologies, best practices to include the use of engineered labor standards.
- Familiarity with industry-leading software and related technologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data from multiple sources.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Project management experience and certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
