    Job Summary:

     

    We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with expertise in FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) and SQL to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will act as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring that systems align with business processes and financial strategies. You will gather and analyze business requirements, focusing on financial systems, and play a key role in optimizing system functionality through data analysis and reporting.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with finance and other business stakeholders to gather and document detailed business and system requirements, ensuring alignment with business and financial goals.

    Financial Systems Support: Work closely with the FP&A team to analyze financial data and improve financial reporting processes using system-based solutions.

    Business Process Analysis: Analyze and map current business and financial processes, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending system-based solutions to optimize operations.

    SQL Data Analysis: Use SQL to query and analyze data, create reports, and provide insights to support business decision-making, particularly in the areas of financial analysis and forecasting.

    System Design & Implementation: Collaborate with IT and development teams to design, configure, and implement financial systems or system enhancements that meet business requirements.

    Technical Specifications: Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications for system changes and enhancements, with a focus on financial systems and reporting.

    Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans to validate that financial systems meet business and functional requirements. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for finance-related projects.

    System Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for financial system-related issues. Act as a liaison between finance teams, IT, and technical teams to resolve issues promptly.

    Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate clear communication between business stakeholders, particularly finance, and technical teams to ensure project scope and financial system objectives are understood.

    Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including financial process flows, technical requirements, and system specifications.

     

    Key Qualifications:

     

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

    Experience:

    • 3-5 years of experience in business systems analysis with a focus on financial systems and FP&A processes.

    • Proven experience working with finance teams, particularly in FP&A.

    • Strong experience in SQL for querying and data analysis.

    • Familiarity with project management methodologies and software development life cycles (SDLC).

    Technical Skills:

    SQL expertise is required for querying, analyzing, and reporting financial data.

    • Knowledge of financial systems (ERP, budgeting, forecasting tools) and how they support FP&A processes.

    • Strong business process modeling skills and experience using tools like Visio, Lucidchart.

    FP&A Expertise: Strong understanding of FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ability to work closely with finance teams to improve financial planning and reporting systems.

    Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to translate financial and business problems into system solutions.

    Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders, particularly in finance.

    Project Management: Experience with Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies is a plus.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

     

    • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.

    • Experience in financial data modeling and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

    Python skills are a plus for automating processes, data analysis, or enhancing financial reporting systems.

    • Previous experience in industries such as healthcare, retail, or finance is an advantage.
