With a robust portfolio of 40+ full-service restaurants in China, specializing in Southeast Asian cuisine, Star Leaf is now venturing into the United States, bringing its culinary excellence to Pasadena, marking its inaugural US location. As part of its expansion strategy, the Group is planning to diversify by introducing a fast-casual eatery to its already impressive portfolio.
We are looking for a motivated Busser to join our team! You will contribute to an exceptional dining experience by cleaning tables, removing dirty dishes, replacing table linens, setting tables, and servicing items to guests such as water, coffee, and condiments.
You are great at managing multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment. With special attention to the details, you care about performing quality work and overall contributing to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
Table Setup: Ensure tables are properly set with clean linens, polished silverware, glassware, and folded napkins.
Clearing Tables: Remove dirty dishes, glassware, and silverware between courses and after guests finish their meals. Clear tables discreetly to avoid disturbing diners.
Resetting Tables: Quickly and efficiently reset tables after guests leave to prepare for the next service, maintaining the restaurant’s high standards.
Polishing Glassware and Silverware: Ensure all glassware and silverware are spotless and polished to perfection before setting tables.
Assisting Servers: Assist servers by bringing water, bread, and other accompaniments to the table. Be attentive to guest needs and available to help as required.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the dining area, service stations, and floors clean and tidy throughout the shift. Ensure floors are free of spills and hazards.
Refilling Water and Non-Alcoholic Beverages: Refill water glasses and non-alcoholic beverages as needed without prompting from the guest.
Carrying Trays: Use trays to carry large amounts of dishes, glasses, or other items efficiently and safely.
Coordinating with Kitchen and Servers: Communicate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure proper timing and flow of dishes, clearing space on tables for new courses.
Trash and Waste Management: Discreetly remove and dispose of trash from guest tables, service areas, and bathrooms as needed.
Back of House Assistance: Assist in cleaning and organizing the back of the house, including dishwashing and other general cleaning tasks as required.
Restocking Supplies: Ensure the restaurant has enough clean dishes, glassware, silverware, and other necessary items readily available during service.
Monitoring Guest Satisfaction: Pay attention to guest behavior and needs, promptly reporting any issues to the server or manager.
Assisting with Special Events: Help with setup, service, and breakdown of private events, parties, or large group bookings.
Qualifications:
Previous knowledge of food service regulations preferred
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to lift, carry, or pull objects 30-40lbs
Able to stand for extended periods
Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks
