Job Description
This role supports the Electrophysiology (EP) Medical Devices team within our client's New Product Introduction (NPI) team, assisting both research & development and new product efforts. The Buyer I is responsible for procurement support for ongoing NPI projects, performing key purchasing functions in compliance with client procurement policies. This includes executing best practices for purchasing raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Execution: Create and process a variety of purchase orders (e.g., standard, subcontract, stock transfer, down-payment, discount orders) following documented procurement processes.
- Delivery Planning: Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in alignment with project demands by working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sourcing, planning, category management, and shipping/receiving.
- Vendor Collaboration: Process purchase requisitions, engage with vendors for product details (price, availability, delivery schedule), and review quotes and acknowledgments for accuracy.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Support and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers, fostering positive business relationships.
- Order and Invoice Management: Manage orders through completion, ensuring smooth invoice resolution and order closure.
- Project Leadership: Lead special projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-2 years in purchasing/commodity management.
- Skills & Knowledge:
* Proficient understanding of procurement concepts, procedures, and best practices.
* General knowledge of SAP ERP systems is preferred.
* Experience in a quality-driven system environment.
* Knowledge of business concepts, processes, and applications.
- Communication & Organization: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective engagement across multiple levels of the organization. Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Team Dynamics: Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a focus on follow-up and accuracy.
