The Buyer is responsible for completing sourcing activities and managing relationships with suppliers. Such activities shall include but are not limited to: contact with suppliers & vendors, identifying & evaluating new supply chain sources, placing purchase orders, managing schedules, and resolving issues related to the procurement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage relationships with suppliers and ensure the smooth flow of materials and goods into the organization
- Manage the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets
- Maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards and delivery requirements
- Identify new suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
- Track, analyze and evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, company guidelines, and policies related to purchasing and supply chain management
- Deliver briefs, updates, and reports to management and project teams as and when required
- Develop ideas and strategies to add value, aid business performance, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
- Responsible for material control and management including chain of custody and appropriate documentation. Manages direct deliveries and drop shipments.
- Manage supplier schedules and ensure changes are reflected within the ERP systems
- Other duties, as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in supply chain management or a related role
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities, while meeting deadlines.
