    KPS Global is looking for a Buyer, to join the Strategic Sourcing Group.

    Job Summary

    The Buyer is responsible for negotiating material costs and obtaining local contracts for production supplies. This role is also responsible for communicating and managing the timely arrival of purchased materials and working with supply base and internal departments to ensure proper inventory levels are achieved. This position expedites or cancels materials when needed, coordinates the return of defective materials, and reviews and directs the work of lower level employees.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Placing purchase orders, expediting, cancelling, and deferring materials and orders with suppliers
    • Providing forecast information to suppliers
    • Working with internal departments and supply base on the return and coordination of defective material; coordinates the charge-back of labor incurred by replacing defective material to suppliers
    • Mentoring and training less experienced employees on departmental processes and procedures; serving as back-up to Senior Buyer as necessary

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 1 – 3 years of experience in Materials, Purchasing, or Inventory Management; 3+ years of experience preferred
    • Proven ability to be a team player, self-starter, and communicate effectively
    • Ability to operate and analyze inventory programs and systems as relates to tactical purchasing
    • Proven experience with conflict resolution, including ability to resolve issues affecting the accomplishment of department and division goals
    • Strong understanding of inventory management and high attention to detail
    • Ability to work in both an office and factory environment
