Buyer - Metals Recycling - Base Salary to 60k/year - Fort Lauderdale, FL

• Our client is a well known ferrous and nonferrous metals recycling company. The facility sits on just under 7 acres of land and has been in business over 50 years. The team is looking to add a Buyer to the team. The Buyer will assist in determining the weight and pricing of scrap metal brought in by customers.
• Candidates do not have to have buying experience. Someone in the scrap metals industry looking to advance would be the ideal candidate profile.

Responsibilities:

• Working with customers to operate scale and calculate pricing & weight on all incoming materials
• Visually inspecting materials to categorize ferrous vs nonferrous
• Applying current market value per pound for each material type and determining final price to pay out to customers
• Recording weight and metal type in system to track inventory and customer transactions

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma
• 2+ years hands on experience in the metals recycling industry
• Robust nonferrous metals knowledge
• Ability to grade materials
• Written and oral communication skills as this is a client facing role
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required

Compensation:

• Compensation for this role includes a base salary up to 60k/year along with a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, retirement program, and health insurance.
