    POSITION OVERVIEWS :

    As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for materials, parts, and services essential for the repair and maintenance of turbomachinery. This role is to perform duties included but not limited to finding and qualifying new suppliers, request for quotations, negotiating, and purchasing products for the company to use or resell. Arrange incoming and outgoing shipments for equipment, supplies, materials, and contract services.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Supplier Relationship Management : Identify, assess, and select suppliers based on their ability to provide high quality components and services for turbomachinery repair and maintenance. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and efficiency in the supply chain.
    2. Procurement : Develop and implement procurement strategies to source materials, spare parts, and services required for the repair and maintenance of turbomachinery. Collaborate with internal teams to understand specific requirements and technical specifications.
    3. Cost Negotiation and Management : Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers while maintaining a focus on cost-effectiveness. Conduct regular cost analyses and implement strategies for cost optimization without compromising on quality.
    4. Quality Assurance : Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials and components meet the required standards for turbomachinery repair and maintenance. Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers promptly.
    5. Supply Chain Coordination : Collaborate with the logistics and operations teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and parts for repair projects. Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :

    BASIC JOB RESPONSIBLITIES :

    • Process requests and POs for quotes and material purchases

    • Oversee contract agreements with vendors

    • Research and locate items for purchase for jobs. Finding out availability, deliveries, specifications of items, and substitution of available items

    • Assist Sales Department in pricing of materials to prepare quotes

    • Research old job histories and purchasing histories for information and support for sales and jobs in progress

    • Ensure use of qualified vendors

    • Establish credit and terms with vendors

    • Purchasing for other departments as required

    • Expedite purchase orders for timely job completion

    • Receive items into ERP system

    • Process invoices for payment

    • Provide delivery times to planner and supervisors to assist with job completions

    • Order and set up trucking, cranes, large forklifts, and rental equipment for job shipments

    • Monitor suppliers’ performance in Costs, Quality and On Time Delivery.
