MISSION

The framework for the Filmmaker & Video Editor role comes from Exodus 35:31-21, “And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze.” The role of the Filmmaker & Video Editor is to translate the message of Christ in awe-inspiring and innovative ways that bring glory to God and help others to worship Him as Lord. The Filmmaker & Video Editor's main task is to enhance and build the creative media of C3 NYC through innovation and collaborative leadership with C3 NYC's volunteer creative team, creating content that increases the impact and reach of the message of Christ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work efficiently to sustain and increase the level of excellence of our video content, building a team to execute weekly projects through scripts, filming and overseeing the editing of the weekly videos for Sundays, creating production schedules and deadlines.
• Edit, or oversee the edits, of weekly video content for Sunday services—assets for both our in person and our online services, other events and trainings.
• Develop new and creative ways to streamline and optimize our video production processes.
• Drive projects with a proactive approach to calendar planning through detailed project plans and review processes.
• Exhibit timeliness & excellence on delivering assets for campaigns based on calendar and deadlines.
• Oversee & build Editing & Film team, recruiting new editors and fostering collaboration and empowerment within volunteers.
• Collaborate well with the Creative Producer, Designer & Art Director as well as other C3 NYC staff in executing creative projects
• Outwork film and creative media content for large-scale projects including but not limited to event openers, series films, stories, specialty promos, short films, video announcements etc.
• Work with the Creative Producer & Creative teams on ministry based content, including but not limited to SONS, DAUGHTERS, VISION BUILDERS & NIGHT SCHOOL content needed for promotion of events through promo videos, social media and content to bring momentum into events at C3 NYC.
• Have flexibility to be shooting locally in NYC as part of our weekly ministry campaign schedules.
• Provide strong editorial decision-making and innovative approach towards unique content creation.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in filmmaking/editing for different mediums (cinematic, advertising, broadcast, social, et al)
• Film/editorial portfolio available online
• Extensive understanding of production and post-production process with a high attention to detail and media management
• Strong video editing proficiency and experimentation (FCPX, Adobe Premiere, Davinci Resolve etc.)
• Proficient time management skills with the ability to focus under pressure
• Experience in overseeing and organizing film equipment and digital assets
• Knowledge of motion graphics preferred
• Working experience of Photoshop and Illustrator preferred

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $70,000
