This is a hybrid position with some travel to Camp Grayling, MI and unit locations in Alpena, MI and Lansing, MI.

    So, what will the C4ISR Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Trainer at Terrestris do?

    As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Trainer you will develop, plan, and train others on the implementation and use of multiple advanced systems. The role is integral to the success of the program, ensuring the efficient development and delivery of training services, network operations, and coordination across multiple units. You will play a critical role in maintaining program integrity, monitoring performance, and supporting the mission of the Northern Strike Plans Group (NSPG).

    What does a typical day look like for the C4ISR Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Trainer?

    You will:

    • Work with Northern Strike staff Plans Group (NSPG) to develop tactical scenarios, providing Subject Matter Expertise in Joint All Domain Air Ground Systems Training (JADAGST) Doctrine/ Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTP).
    • Coordinate and integrate with all unit POC's, installation and range personnel, spectrum managers, and plans group white cell personnel, contributing to OPORDs (operational orders) and related appendices & annexes to set the conditions for integration of JADAGS equipment and methods. This includes creating MTT training schedules as well as contributing to formation of exercise and unit CONOPS.
    • Provide customized, mission-specific training to prepare participating units to employ JADAGS equipment and methods during deployment by deploying as a member of Mobile Training Teams (MTT) to participating units within the 54 states and territories and District of Columbia to ensure readiness prior to first day of exercise.
    • Provide capable and consistent support of rotational training unit capabilities and capacity for exercise planners that will allow NSPG personnel to focus on developing each training event to fit rotation unit training gates and mission essential tasks, primarily through the conduct of MTTs.
    • Deploy to each relevant exercise participant unit's home station prior to exercise execution to provide 3-5 days of instruction including Northern Strike expectations, introduction & academics, equipment familiarization (Unit's fielded systems) and integration with current Joint All Domain Air Ground Systems Training (JADAGST) Doctrine/TTP.
    • Assure increased unit proficiency with digital communication systems. Scale training on Northern Strike required baseline items for Annual Training; establish metrics to measure training success within units.
    • Assist OC/Ts (Observer Coach and Trainer) in capturing training and system utilization gaps, prior to, during and after any event utilizing JADAGS to provide their expertise and support as needed, including mission flow, facilitating pre briefs/debriefs, monitor safety, identify unit trends, develop new TTP's, and identify best practices for event improvement.
    • Provide a report on unit participation status that tracks all planned training events, meetings/conferences, and project milestones to the government POC who will provide to the MIARNG Northern Strike leadership. This report shall highlight and include identification of areas of concern.
    • Provide responses to the government points of contact pertaining to Requests for Information (RFI's). Maintain records of RFI's to show what was requested and what was provided for the response.
    • Describe established and operational exercise digital communications capability.
    • Establish baseline and advance understanding of current technology so units may leverage digital communications equipment to expedite various webs, including but not limited to close air support (CAS) and indirect fires (IDF), while providing real-time situational awareness between command and control, and ground and air units.
    • Work with NSPG to develop tactical scenarios and provide MOS/AFSC-specific feedback as required after each mission to include how effectively JADAGS was used.
    • Provide on-call support from company home location to aid an assist in administrative, network/equipment troubleshooting, and scenario development.
    • Attend JELC events and other events.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the quality control professional we're looking for if you have:

    • Secret Security Clearance, or greater, from the Defense Industry Security Clearance Office.
    • Extensive experience with Tactical C4ISR systems.
    • Baseline experience with Digital networking (Variable Message Forman over Combat New Radio (VMF over CNR), Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), Link 16 and other emerging networks).
    • Baseline experience with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), including ATAK & WinTAK (Basic Overview, Digital Fires & Close Air Support Application, related plug-ins, and integration).
    • Battlefield Airmen (Digitally Aided Strike Suite).
    • Baseline experience with Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform (ANW2) (Communications Plan Application (CPA) and tactical implementation).
    • Baseline experience with Tactical radio communications (PRC148, PRC152, PRC117F/G, PRC-161, PRC-162 (V)1, PRC-167) antenna theory, system programming (AM, FM, SATCOM, VMF), configuration, RF spectrum fundamentals, approvals & integrations, Link16 operations and tactical employment.
    • Baseline experience with Move Out/Jump Off (MOJO) Expeditionary Tactical Gateway (configuration, OPTASKLINK (OTL) coordination and employment. Ver. October 2022 15).
    • Baseline experience with Fire-support-specific system (AFATADS, RT-1523 Radios (SINCGARS), Harris HF Radios PRC-150s, Tac Link 3300s or Ultra link, LIGHTWEIGHT FORWARD ENTRY DEVICE (LFED) COMPUTER SYSTEM, DIGITAL AN/PSG-14A(V)1 AN/PSG-14A(V)2, POCKET-SIZED FORWARD ENTRY DEVICE (PFED) AN/PSG-10(V)3, BFT/JBCP/JCR, M142 HIMARS GDU (Gunners Display Unit), Asap radios).
    • Baseline experience with Wireless Mesh Networking / Mobile Ad hoc Networking (MANET) integration solutions (potentially including Persistent Systems MPU5 / Wave Relay, TrellisWare TSM/TSM-X waveform and Silvus Technologies MN-MIMO waveforms
