    Aerothreads is actively seeking a CAD Designer to join our stellar design team of artists, creatives and makers supporting our customers in the rapidly growing aerospace industry.

    Aerothreads is looking to hire an entry-mid level CAD Designer to help expand its design team's bandwidth for concurrent MLI design projects. The CAD Designer's main job function is to 3D model and flat pattern MLI blankets for manufacturing using Creo. This role functions within the design team's iterative feedback-based workflow, which begins with gaining an understanding of client-provided project specifications and aerospace industry MLI standards. On a typical project, the CAD Designer will be responsible for creating a representative CAD model of thermal blanket coverage, as well as technical drawings for our fabrication team to build to.

    Job Description:

    Create technical drawings, representational 3D models, and cut lists using Creo CAD Software

    Upkeep CAD revision control system

    Reach out to clients directly for clarity on project requirements

    Assist in creating client design presentations

    Communicate and present features of own designs clearly and accurately to clients during meetings

    Keep record of client design change requests

    Reach design solutions collaboratively

    Implement both client feedback and team feedback in designs on a constant basis

    Ensure patterns are manufacturable by making basic paper mockups as needed

    Take initiative to achieve best results, by asking questions, improving own design process, and revisiting past projects and solutions.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent field required

    Experience working with Creo CAD Software (or industry equivalent software such as SolidWorks) required

    Experience using CAD in a product manufacturing environment, with a focus on manufacturability and quality control required

    Experience flat patterning preferred

    Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills

    Strong organizational skills

    Ability to work as a part of a highly collaborative fast-paced team
