Our new experienced CAD Drafter II supports the design and engineering teams by preparing detailed technical drawings and plans for a variety of civil, mechanical, and electrical projects. In this mid-level role, the CAD Drafter II utilizes advanced drafting techniques, works on complex projects, and ensures the accuracy and completeness of all drawings. This position involves working closely with engineers and project managers to meet project goals and deadlines.
Responsibilities as a CAD Drafter II include the ability to:
Prepare detailed CAD drawings, plans, and layouts based on engineering designs and specifications.
Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes or project modifications.
Use software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or MicroStation to create and modify technical drawings for civil, electrical, mechanical, or structural projects.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure that all drawings meet project requirements, industry standards, and local codes.
Perform quality checks to ensure that all drawings are accurate, consistent, and detailed.
Manage and organize CAD files, ensuring proper documentation and version control.
Create and modify plan views, profiles, sections, and detail drawings.
Assist in developing standard drawing templates and CAD procedures to improve efficiency.
Perform minor design work and assist with calculations when necessary.
Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings after project completion.
Maintain an organized drawing archive and ensure that project documentation is filed correctly.
Qualifications for this position must consist of:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural disciplines.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software such as Civil 3D, Revit, or MicroStation.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in drafting and design.
Ability to interpret and apply design criteria, regulations, and codes to project plans.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of drafting.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
It would be great if you possess:
Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software.
Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and integration of data into CAD.
Basic knowledge of structural, electrical, or mechanical engineering principles.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering or construction environment.
