****ROLE SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES
To ensure Carter + Clark’s commitment to a best-in-industry client experience, the CAD/QC Technician is responsible for drafting/checking surveys in an accurate and efficient manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Software skills: Carlson Survey (geomatic application), AutoCAD (latest release)
- Strong mathematical, computer, analytic and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Extremely Responsive
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in surveying and mapping, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, IT, or related field; in lieu of a degree, 1-3 years’ experience working in surveying, drafting, or other relevant field or position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Using Carlson Software, import field points and notes to create a field work survey which shows the under construction or completed house and all additional improvements on site.
- Monitor daily and respond to all Emails, Messages and forms of communication within the company in a timely manner.
- Escalate to Team Lead or Production Manager of any municipality or design issues.
- Quality Control as it relates to the end survey product and inbound field work.
- Utilizing municipality provided and internal checklists/rules, review surveys for 100% accuracy.
- Utilizing discretion on subjective matters, have employees revise surveys to ensure a quality consistent product is produced.
- Ability to follow manager direction which includes checking work in your specialized area, checking work in order of urgency/due dates, uploading your work in a timely manner, etc.
- Alert Production Manager of any identified opportunities while drafting/checking to improve our efficiency (rules that could be reworded, redundant rules, any CCConnect glitches).
- Ensure all survey products are delivered on time.
- Address, resolve, and/or escalate problems as appropriate.
- Maintain a robust understanding of industry trends and best practices.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
