    Job Description

    DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hi-Rail Technician with a great attitude, strong ethics and morals, and a vast mechanical aptitude with a keen sense of safety. This job is responsible for spraying herbicide to various railroads, as well as maintaining truck and equipment needs. Approx. Start: February.

    ** MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:**

    OPERATIONS:

    • Oversee all jobs/contracts sent to work on.
    • Spray complete weed, grass, and brush killer to various railroads.
    • Do all daily routing and scheduling.
    • Do all daily tank mixing.
    • Calibrate all spray equipment.
    • Mae sure all work is conducted in compliance with strict safety guidelines.
    • Responsible for all daily/weekly record keeping.

    SERVICE:

    • Handle all contact with customers.
    • Handle customer/public complaints.
    • Report any potential liabilities immediately.

    TECHNICAL:

    • Full understanding of weed, grass, and brush types.
    • Complete understanding of chemicals used, what they control, and all safety requirements.
    • Full understanding of application methods and equipment.
    • Full understanding of calibration and spray patterns.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 21+ years of age or older.
    • Commercial driver's license required, Class A or B.
    • Tanker and air brake endorsements is required.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical, as well as a federal background check to work on railroad property.
    • Ability to travel for a minimum of 2 weeks at a time (hotel expenses paid by the company).
    • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License preferred.
    • Most work is done Monday-Friday 7am-4pm and most days are ten-hour days, but you must be able to work twelve-hour days when necessary.
    • Some Saturday, Sunday, or night work may be required.
    • Hours may vary depending on weather conditions and workload.
    • Spraying will be seasonal coinciding with regional office.

    DeAngelo Contracting Services provide our employees with paid training to help them become successful in their positions. Areas of training include:

    • Learn how to identify different weeds, grass, and brush species.
    • Determine what chemicals effectively control what plant species.
    • Learn how to safely operate application equipment.
    • Different application methods utilized in the field.
    • An understanding of how to maintain equipment.
    • Basic computer skills required.
