Pittsburgh Transportation is looking to hire a full-time experienced CDL Mechanic to help perform daily maintenance and repairs on our fleet of company vehicles. The shift for this position is Monday - Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm. A Pennsylvania CDL license, State Inspection License, and ability to pass a DOT physical is required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for interior and exterior repair, service, and maintenance on all fleet vehicles to ensure proper working and safety conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A CDL MECHANIC:
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Examine protective guards, loose belts, and specified safety devices on vehicle, and make adjustments.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and services in a timely manner.
• Perform all necessary repairs on vehicles.
• Responsible for proper recovery of vehicles when applicable.
• Conduct essential road tests to check for vehicle issue.
• Responsible for ensuring updates according to specifications.
• Maintain tools and workplace so the shop’s conditions are neat and orderly.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS OF A CDL MECHANIC:
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: One to three years of experience in a CDL Mechanic Role, preferred
