    Job Summary

    Under the supervision of the Research Nurse Manager, the Research Assistant supports clinical research efforts by providing comprehensive data management for a research portfolio of Phase I-IV protocols in accordance with Institutional policy, Good Clinical Practice and ICH guidelines as adopted by the FDA. The Research Assistant is responsible for timely and accurate collection and coordination of data submission to study sponsors, and ensuring quality control.

    The Research Assistant may attend clinic and the research laboratory as needed to perform activities including, but not limited to: data collection, data entry, assisting in clinic procedures related to research, assisting in recruitment activities and administering questionnaires. The Research Assistant is responsible for the compilation and transcription of research patient data and study related information into case report forms (CRF’s) and into sponsor specific electronic data capture systems (EDC). The Research Assistant will work with the clinical research team to manage and collect accurate data and assist Principal Investigators and study coordinators for all data management aspects of clinical trials.

    Essential Job Duties

    Coordinates the collection of data for accuracy.

    Abstracts data from the medical record and completes paper and electronic case report forms, while maintain strict confidentiality of patients, employees and company information at all times.

    Provides clerical support to the research team.

    Maintains inventory for all study supplies.

    Identifies and communicates important data management issues or problems to the Manager in a timely manner.

    Requirements

    High School Diploma / GED

    1 year of direct experience

    Licensure/Certification

    Basic Life Support

    HIPAA

    Other Preferred Skills and Qualities

    Experience in outpatient acute setting or other healthcare facility

    CITI and Good Clinical Practices (GCP) certification

    The Center for Comprehensive Care & Diagnosis of Inherited Blood Disorders (CIBD), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients and their families with rare, chronic inherited blood disorders. CIBD is a part of a nationwide network of over 140 Hemophilia Treatment Centers that use multidisciplinary teams of blood disorder specialists to provide expert comprehensive diagnosis, medical care, outreach, education, outcomes monitoring, surveillance, and prevention services to people with hemophilia, Sickle-Cell Anemia, Thalassemia, Von Willebrand Disease, and other related hematology conditions. CIBD is the regional grantee for the Western States Region/Region IX providing regional leadership, fiscal and administrative oversight, grants management, capacity building, clinical education, technical assistance, evaluation, and outreach to public and private health agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.
