    CMA Certified Medical Assistant *Contract* Philadelphia, PA

    Days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri (40 hrs.) Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Meal: 60 minutes

    The Medical Assistant assists with the daily operations of the clinic and the medical unit.

    JOB DUTIES

    1. Monitor patient vital signs.
    2. Implements orders for diagnostic lab tests according to site policy Yid the Joint Commission Brid ACA standards.
    3. Maintains inventory of supplies
    4. Assists the RN ar LVN as needed in the medical unt within scope of practice.
    1. Maintains confidentiality of medical records
    1. Documents in SOAR format all health-related encounters for patients
    2. Records EKGs as directed by nurse.
    3. Assists physician with minor procedures.
    4. Maintains and cleans medical unit/equipment and a daily basis and as needed.
    5. Works in conjunction with the nurse to maintain dally duties required to run the clinic in an organized fashion.
    6. Assists with maintaining recordkeeping.
    7. Obtain specimens directed end in accordance with policies and procedures within the scope of practice.
    8. Utilizes infection control techniques in a consistent manner.
    9. Attends mandatory monthly staff meetings.

    15\. Collects data for Quality Improvement programs, as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. High school diploma or GEO
    2. Completion of medical assistant program from a vocational, technical or career school
    1. 3\. Minimum of one (1) year experience in health care setting, correctional health care
    1. 4\. Maintains BLS

      Physical Requirements

      Employees must be able to perform the following:

    1. Required to lift to 50 pounds of ability to, push or pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
    2. Required to kneel, stoop, crouch, and/or crawl occasionally.
    3. Frequent walking throughout the site; to include walking up and down flights of stairs.
    4. Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility', endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental, and emotional) situations encountered on the job,
    5. Occasional running when responding to emergencies; must be able to perform ELS.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Inside work with periodic traveling to other locations with exposure to weather, temperature extremes and hazardous road conditions. Frequent standing and walking while presenting or performing job duties.
