Catawba Valley Engineering and Testing (CVET) is looking for a part-time Laboratory Technician. The primary duties will be performing in-house testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor. This position would be great for anyone looking to begin a career in a math, science, or engineering field.

Duties include:

· Receiving and identifying lab samples to be processed within the lab

· Preparing and testing samples in accordance with material testing standards

· Maintaining clear test results to be turned in to lab management and project engineers

· Calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and instrumentation used for testing

· Maintenance and organization of laboratory facility

Qualities should include:

· High attention to detail and good organizational skills

· Ability to comprehend and adhere to detailed procedures

· Consistency and eagerness to improve

· Good teamwork skills accompanied by transparency and good communication

· Proficiency in Excel is a plus
