Catawba Valley Engineering and Testing has a part-time Laboratory Technician position available. The primary duties will be performing in-house testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor. This position would be great for anyone looking to begin a career in a math, science, or engineering field.

Duties of the Laboratory Technician include:

· Receiving and identifying lab samples to be processed within the lab.

· Preparing and testing samples in accordance with material testing standards.

· Maintaining clear test results to be turned in to lab management and project engineers.

· Calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and instrumentation used for testing.

· Maintenance and organization of laboratory facility.

Qualities of Laboratory Technician should include:

· High attention to detail and good organizational skills.

· Ability to comprehend and adhere to detailed procedures.

· Consistency and eagerness to improve.

· Good teamwork skills accompanied by transparency and good communication.

· Proficiency in Excel is a plus.
