    Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

    Location: Legacy at Herington, Herington, KS

    Pay: $17.00-$19.00 Shift differential of $1.50!!

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Patient Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Provide compassionate and respectful care to all residents.
    • Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly check and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
    • Mobility Assistance: Help residents with mobility, including transfers and positioning, to ensure their safety and comfort.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including changes in condition and responses to treatments.
    • Medication Assistance: Assist with administering medications as directed by licensed nursing staff, and ensure proper documentation.
    • Communication: Report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to the nursing staff and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver optimal care.
    • Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of residents' living areas, including making beds and maintaining a safe environment.
    • Supportive Role: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, enhancing their quality of life.
    • Compliance: Adhere to all state regulations and facility policies, including infection control procedures and resident rights.

    Qualifications:

    • Certification: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Kansas.
    • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
    • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move patients, and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
    • Compassion: Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents.
    • Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and meet other state and federal requirements.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time during shifts.
    • Ability to lift, carry, and assist patients, including transferring from bed to wheelchair, repositioning in bed, and helping with mobility (up to 50 lbs or more).
    • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and squat to assist residents with personal care and comfort.
    • Good hand-eye coordination for tasks such as administering medications or operating medical equipment.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with residents, families, and healthcare staff.
    • Ability to react quickly to emergencies and assist in resident transport or evacuations as needed.
    • Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) to read medical records and monitor patient care.
    • Emotional stamina to work with residents who may be in advanced stages of illness or decline.
