Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Provide compassionate and respectful care to all residents.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly check and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
- Mobility Assistance: Help residents with mobility, including transfers and positioning, to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including changes in condition and responses to treatments.
- Medication Assistance: Assist with administering medications as directed by licensed nursing staff, and ensure proper documentation.
- Communication: Report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to the nursing staff and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver optimal care.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of residents' living areas, including making beds and maintaining a safe environment.
- Supportive Role: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, enhancing their quality of life.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state regulations and facility policies, including infection control procedures and resident rights.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Kansas.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move patients, and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
- Compassion: Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and meet other state and federal requirements.
