Job Description:
Preparing machines for production runs within the quality and safety standards set by the Quality and Production Manager. Have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, bend, reach with hands and arms, and lift approx. 40 pounds. All production staff must proactively participate in identifying ways to increase efficiency, maximize productivity, maintain quality and contribute to team morale.
Due to SSS Spring and Wire being a small company and therefore having limited resources, all employees are expected to cooperate with other departments, going above and beyond their main job duties when necessary or assigned to ensure the optimal performance of the company. Employees are expected to be considerate of colleagues by maintaining common areas, including break room and rest room, to a good standard.
In addition, all employees of SSS Spring and Wire must consistently work with a sense of urgency and flexibility, with keen attention to QSCDM: quality, zero ppm, safety, zero accidents, cost, continuous improvement, 100% on time delivery, and morale; keeping in mind our Quality and Mission statement: "SSS is committed to continuous improvement of Product, Delivery and Customer Satisfaction."
Main Duties: Responsible for:
Machine Setter
· Setting and adjusting all machines to customer designs and to a high standard of accuracy
Troubleshooting the machine and any product problems.
Knowledge and practice of safe working techniques in a proactive sense.
Responsible for keeping work area clean and maintained.
Responsible for maintaining all tooling in good working condition, clean and well organized.
Working with Production Manager to schedule part production, coordinating use of machines to be cost productive and meet customer needs.
Following all systems and procedures in accordance with TS16949 quality standard.
Machine Operator
· Using all gauges and checks accurately to ensure highest quality part produced.
Documenting work performed, quality checks and production information.
Scrapping parts including recording scrap accurately and to correct standards.
Knowledge and practice of safe working techniques in a proactive sense.
Responsible for keeping work area clean and maintained.
Education/Experience required: Minimum of 5 years working experience setting and programming CNC spring coiling machines. Journeyman Machinist is a plus but not required.
