Job Title: CNC Continuous Improvement Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CNC Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing CNC machining processes, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and quality assurance to identify areas for improvement and foster a culture of innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimization : Evaluate current CNC machining processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- CNC Program Analysis and Optimization : Analyze and optimize CNC programs to enhance machine performance, reduce cycle times, improve quality and improve overall efficiency.
- Lean Manufacturing : Implement lean manufacturing techniques to streamline operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Data Analysis : Collect and analyze production data to inform process improvements and cost reduction strategies.
- Project Management : Lead and manage continuous improvement projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with company goals.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure all process improvements meet internal quality standards and customer requirements.
- Safety Compliance : Maintain and promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance and IT, to implement and sustain improvements.
- Training and Development : Provide training and support to staff on new processes and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related field. Experience may be accepted in lieu of educational requirements.
- Proven experience in CNC machining and process improvement (formal training w/certification preferred).
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks & Mastercam preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (DELMIAWorks, f.k.a. IQMS preferred).
