Job Summary
As a CNC Machinist , you will set up, operate, and maintain CNC and conventional machines to produce high-precision metal and non-metal parts. You'll apply your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and problem-solving to ensure high-quality production while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachining & Production (80%)
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and specifications to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Program and adjust machine controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
- Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assemble machined components using jigs, fixtures, and hand tools.
- Maintain proper documentation of production processes, nonconformities, and machine maintenance.
Quality & Safety (20%)
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
- Conduct regular inspections and adhere to ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Report machine malfunctions, defects, or nonconformities immediately.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete all necessary documentation.
- Follow preventive maintenance procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4+ years of experience in machining, trade school, vocational training, or apprenticeship preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and machine setup.
- Experience with shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and safety protocols.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and reach overhead for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, fumes, dust, and cutting fluids.
- Ability to monitor machine sounds for troubleshooting.
- Occasional overtime and Saturday shifts may be required based on customer demand.
