    CNC Machinist
    Minneapolis, MN | Contract-to-Hire | $24 - $28/hour (depending on experience)

    1st shift hours (7:00 am to 3:30 pm)

    Konik is partnering with a leading company that specializes in designing and manufacturing high-quality motors, generators, and related equipment for industrial applications to identify a CNC Machinist to join their team. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual machining equipment. They will work within close tolerance requirements to produce high-quality parts while adhering to safety and quality standards.

    CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

    • Operate CNC and Manual Machines: Machine high-quality parts to meet tolerance requirements, following routing information for sequence and method.
    • Apply Technical Expertise: Read design prints, interpret GD&T principles, assess surface finish requirements, and ensure design accuracy by collaborating with relevant teams.
    • Maintain Equipment and Workspace: Perform preventative maintenance, keep the work area clean, and use tools like electric/pneumatic hand tools, forklifts, and cranes to handle materials.
    • Support Manufacturing and Quality Standards: Assist with setup, machining, and tooling; complete QA/customer documentation, and uphold ISO 9001, OSHA, and EPA standards.
    • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and ensure parts are deburred, cleaned, and meet all quality specifications.

     

    CNC Machinist Qualifications:

    • Hold a 2-year machining degree or have a high school diploma with at least 3 years of machining experience. Ability to read design prints, interpret GD&T, and meet surface finish requirements.
    • Operate CNC machinery, lathes, boring mills, grinders, and other equipment. Have basic CNC programming knowledge and the ability to make edits.
    • Understand carbide tooling, feeds, and speeds; operate equipment like key-seaters, broaches, band saws, and heating equipment. Certification in overhead crane, jib crane, and forklift operation is required.
    • Routinely lift and move objects up to 50 lbs., work at heights or confined spaces, and perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists. Must be able to remain stationary for prolonged periods.
