    Job Description: Materials Technology Inc. is seeking a skilled machinist to join our climate-controlled machine shop within our metallurgical testing lab. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both manual lathes and CNC machines, excellent organizational skills, and a strong ability to meet deadlines. A solid understanding of machining tolerances for lab test specimens is essential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operate lathes and CNC machines to machine test specimens according to strict tolerance requirements.

    Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide machining processes.

    Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

    Organize and manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks to meet lab deadlines.

    Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all machining activities.

    Collaborate with lab technicians and engineers to address any machining challenges.

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience operating lathes and CNC machines, preferably in a testing or precision machining environment.

    Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality control processes.

    Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.

    Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

    Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Background in metallurgy or materials testing.

    Experience with Haas vertical machining centers & manual lathes

    Ability to read micrometers, calipers and other measuring equipment
