    Position Summary:

    To effectively support and organize machine shop operations. The position serves as a focal point of all machining operations within the company and requires coordination of work with other departmental supervisors, machinists, sub-contractors, engineering and management to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Interpret engineering drawings and develop traveler routing steps to complete a job.

    Program new and existing product to improve operational efficiency.

    Maintain and edit programs to improve processes and efficiency.

    Set up and operate CNC lathes, Bridgeports, and other machining equipment.

    Troubleshoot and problem solve CNC production issues.

    Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.

    Familiar with cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts and cutting tools to be used on basis of experience and knowledge of plastic and metal properties.

    Upgrade and maintain machinery, order parts, and ensure repair records are kept up to date.

    Select and order tooling to optimize tooling life and on hand tooling inventory.

    Works with other departments to provide support with regard to machining methods, inspection procedures, production equipment, etc.

    Attend and participate in scheduled meetings.

    Abide by all company policies and procedures.

    Perform all job-related tasks as assigned by upper management.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High School degree, diploma or a GED required.

    Minimum 5-7 years’ experience with operation of CNC and manual machines, tool set-up, editing and inspection in prototype and production environments.

    Experience with Fanuc controls (HAAS a plus)

    Experience with programing CNC lathes or similar CNC turning center machinery.

    Ability to read and understand G code.

    Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    Ability to use Measuring Tools (calipers, indicators, etc.).

    Experience with planning, estimating, travelers/routers, and reporting.

    Experience with preventive maintenance and repairs to CNC machinery.

    Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, etc.

    Candidate must have an excellent attention to detail.

    Must be able to work well independently and effectively within a team and have the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers.

    Candidate needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time.

    Candidate should have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

    Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.

    Must have reliable transportation.
