Job Description
The CNC Project Engineer is the “Project Manager” for each job, as they play a critical role in reviewing contracts, developing manufacturing plans, and managing projects to ensure successful execution of CNC machining jobs. This position acts as a technical liaison between engineering, quality, programming, scheduling, and purchasing to drive efficiency, maintain compliance, and meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities:

1. Contract Review
- Analyze customer prints, specifications, and requirements to ensure manufacturability.
- Identify and communicate any technical risks or required clarifications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal capabilities.
- Send order acknowledgments to customers, confirming job acceptance and delivery expectations.
2. Planning & Process Development
- Develop a comprehensive manufacturing plan, outlining machining sequences, inspection checks, material purchases, and critical process controls.
- Collaborate with quality, programming, scheduling, and purchasing teams to define work holding, tooling, and requirements for production.
- Participate in planning meetings to ensure a seamless transition from contract approval to production.
3. Project Management
- Track job progress, anticipate potential bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to troubleshoot process issues.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project timelines and expectations.
- Manage CNC machining projects from inception to completion, adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Ensure that all parts are manufactured to the highest quality standards and delivered on time, adhering to customer specifications and industry best practices.
