We’re seeking a motivated and skilled professional with expertise in setting up and operating CNC machining centers, specifically Haas and Mazak machines. This role requires precision, problem-solving, and a strong understanding of machining practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Vertical and Horizontal machining centers, including Haas and Mazak.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, with a basic understanding of GD&T.
- Perform first-piece inspections, using measuring tools (e.g., pin gauges, micrometers, calipers) to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Edit G-code programs and suggest improvements to reduce setup times and enhance productivity.
- Conduct multiple setups daily, adjust tool lengths, and offsets as needed.
- Assemble and preset tooling during automated cycles to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing teams to exchange technical knowledge and improve processes.
- Perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry calculations as required for machining tasks.
- Maintain compliance with Good Machining Practices (GMP) and 5-S initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a 2-year technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a CNC setup/operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with machining stainless steel and aluminum.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and using advanced quality control equipment.
- Strong practical knowledge of G-code and experience editing programs.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and a team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to perform multiple setups and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- English proficiency required.
