SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Program Director/CM Supervisor, the College Corner Worker will work with students in grades 6-12, who identify in needed support. She/He will assist students to navigate the path to college/university process in understanding post-secondary options and individual advising sessions with students providing workshops and creating an Individual Customer Service Plan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct an initial pre-screening assessment to determine program eligibility and suitability. Conduct a comprehensive assessment and assist customers in identifying short and long-term academic goals and formulate an individual customer service plan to attain goals.
Responsible for providing and/or coordinating a wide array of youth mentorship services designed to address the multiple needs and barriers of low-income first-generation youth becoming academically self-sufficient. Provide information referral assistance and advocate on behalf of the customer in obtaining needed services both in-house and through outside service providers.
Assist students with resources/information for college/university admissions, applying for financial aid (FAFSA) fee waivers for college applications (SAT, ACT, AP)
Provide tutoring/homework /mentoring services to middle/high school students individual and small group. College Corner Workers will coach students around short and long-term academic goals by reviewing alongside students' transcripts and report cards.
. Prepare customer records documenting all services provided. Is responsible for ensuring the tracking of sensitive data is collected and confidentiality maintained. Responsible for the accurate and timely documentation of all customer-based services. Enter all mentorship-related services as scheduled in the City’s data entry system.
Participate in various FSC programs and/or community-related activities as directed.
Other related duties as assigned by Program Director/CM Supervisor.
Facilitate communication and maintain positive relationships among other teachers, students’ families and community partners.
Attend case management related trainings, seminars workshops as requested by FSC Program Director/Executive Director.
Provide Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA Services
Adhere to daily/ weekly work schedule as agreed upon
Qualifications and Experience:
Must have experience volunteering with other community-based or education programs. Strong written and verbal skills. Experience in tutoring and working with diverse communities. Clear a National Criminal History Check.
EDUCATION: The College Corner Worker must be enrolled in full-time or part-time post-secondary education (4-year university or community college).
SKILLS: Must be bilingual (English/Spanish. Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, data entry experience.

PART TIME HOURLY POSITION: 20-24 Hours Per Week, No Benefits
SALARY RANGE: $22.50 Per Hour
