Iowa Eye Center in Cedar Rapids is now hiring for a Contact Lens Technician! Iowa Eye Center is a physician-owned practice that sees patients from a large geographic area. Local solo practice ophthalmologists founded the group practice in 1992, and there is a large group of employees that have been here since the beginning. It's a great place to work! There are 7 physicians and 55 employees. We are currently searching for someone to join our team. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

· Fit all types of lenses including soft, RGP, multi-focal, Toric, and Keratoconus

· Evaluate proper contact lens fit through slit lamp examination

· Supervise quality control within the contact lens department

· Maintain stock inventory of contact lenses and supplies

What we are looking for:

· Experience with fitting contact lenses, but would train a well-qualified ophthalmic assistant or optician

· Experience with Ophthalmology and/or Compulink EyeCare Advantage and NextGen EHR would be great but not required

· Experience with Ophthalmic and Medical terminology

· Detailed-oriented person

· Ability to work independently on a day-to-day basis with minimal supervision

· Ability to communicate with your co-workers, physicians, and medical personnel

· Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients
