Job Summary

We are seeking Companion and Personal Supports Caregivers to join our team! In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include transportation to community activities, assisting with hygiene needs, light housekeeping and errands, and other tasks that improve the client’s living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.

Responsibilities

Transport and accompany individuals to places of interest in the community

Providing companionship and conversation

Assist with mobility, walking, and physical therapy exercises if needed

Assist with and provide training in preparing meals and snacks

Assist with and provide training in housekeeping activities

Assist with errands and shopping

Ability to document activities within guidelines

Qualifications

1 year or more of previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role

High School Diploma or GED

Must pass Level II Background screening

Reliable transportation with current registration and insurance

Willingness to complete online training and CPR/First Aid certification (paid by agency)

Experience with adults with disabilities and/or APD TRAIN certificates a PLUS

Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills

Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
