We are seeking a Reception/Intake Specialist to join our team! You will perform clerical and administrative functions in order to drive company success. We are willing to train the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcomes and greets patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
• Tracks internal and external Release of Information (ROI) requests.
• Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone, managing schedule in real time to optimize patient access and creating opportunities for patient engagement (for example red carpeting).
• Screens and enrolls eligible patients into clinic’s special population programs.
• Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area. Aids patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
• Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
• Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting patient detailed patient information including personal and financial information.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of patient information in EHR system.
• Schedule all patients as appropriate, inputting precise and accurate information as required per Clinic requirements and policies.
• Complete and/or assist with the completion of all patient registration forms.
• Bring any patient concerns or complaints to the immediate attention of the Business Operations Manager and/or Patient Advocate.
• Maintains confidentiality with respect to proprietary information, patient information and employees as patient’s information.
• Actively participates as a member of an organizational Team when the opportunity presents itself, such as Workplace of Choice or Safety Committee, and continues to further their own education related to their role within the organization.
• Works openly with the Business Operations Manager, providing suggestions for improvements or enhancements to current processes, suggesting new processes, and by providing innovative and creative solutions supporting organizational and departmental goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience in office administration or other related fields
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail

• High School Diploma

Job Description Responsibilities: Under general supervision, responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures Provides limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification Interviews donors and performs medical history reviews to obtain necessary information to determine suitability to donate plasma In conjunction with the Center Medical Director, responds to medically related questions and provides information to staff on donor suitability Reviews test results and determines continued donor suitability; assesses donor symptoms that may result in the inability to continue donating Notifies and counsels donors regarding reactive test results; refers donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling Provides routine care following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); escalates critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers as required Qualifications: Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc. Different qualifications or responsibilities may apply based on local legal and/or educational requirements.
