This position offers great experience for students in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or Education programs. The Mental Health Technician (home care - mental health worker) is employed on the basis of personal aptitude and must be able to be compassionate while working with clients with mental illness. Training is provided. Education and experience working with individuals with mental health issues preferred, but not necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitor clients taking medications in their homes. Observe clients medication adherence.
· Assist clients in learning independent community living skills in the areas of grocery shopping and side-by-side cleaning.
· Assist the client in participating in community life through a variety of planned social and recreational activities with other program clients.
· Accompany clients to acquire services, facilitate communication and report back to case manager.
· Participate in agency orientation and training.
· Maintain accurate records as instructed by the CSP Director and Clinical Coordinator regarding any changes in the client's status.
· Work within a flexible schedule as required.
· No personal cares of clients required.
Minimum Requirements:
· High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
· Villa Hope will provide training to meet requirements of position. Position is primarily weekends with the ability to fill in on occasional week days. There is week day training initially at hire. Typical schedule once trained is every other weekend and several holidays per year.
· Interest in Human Services/Mental Health. Must possess good interpersonal skills and enjoy working with others.
· 18 or older required
· Background check required
· Drivers check required. Must have valid Wisconsin Driver's License, good driving record and be able to drive company vehicles.
Benefits and Pay:
· $16.00 per hour
· $3.00 an hour weekend premium (total of $19 an hour Saturday and Sunday)
· Up to a $1000 signing bonus paid out 50% after completing the first 60 days of employment and the second 50% after completing 6 months of employment.
· Part Time Weekend Shift
· Every other weekend (18 – 20 hours per weekend) and several holidays per year. Holidays are paid at double time.
· Regular hours are 7:15am – 5:15pm and assigned holidays. With the possibility of additional hours during the week.

· Simple IRA retirement plan if eligibility requirements are met
· Company vehicle for use when on duty
Villa Hope, Inc. Community Support Program, with the support and direction of Brown County Human Services (BCHS) operates a Community Support Program (CSP) for people with severe and persistent mental illness. The program is designed with the belief that consistent and active support, and interactions that encourage self-sufficiency and independence will aid individuals in remaining within the community setting. The program offers the needed support that enables each participant to achieve the maximum potential for independence. The purpose of the program is to increase the level of independent functioning and reduce the frequency and duration of psychiatric hospitalizations through the coordination of service delivery.
