The Security Supervisor will have security responsibility within a high volume repair and logistics operation.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities of the security staff during the assigned shift, which provides safety, protects employees and company assets. Supervise programs and processes to reduce potential for corporate loss of property or injury. Review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities. Investigate incidents and compile data for accurate reporting to management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Security Supervisor is liaison between contracted security service and branch management.
- Security Supervisor is responsible for all contracted security personnel during the shift.
- Provides assignment and direction for the uniformed security services.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Subordinate responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Document any security concerns or needs for submission to branch management.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within security industry.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Conducts investigations of potential security concerns or unsafe acts.
- Control and monitor daily access controlled entry and exit of individuals both employees and visitors.
- Responsible for the access control system for changes of designated clearances during the shift.
- Monitors and maintains designated CCTV systems and respond to any potential security or safety issues in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitors and maintains proper operation of all metal detection devises.
- Monitoring vehicles entering and exiting the facility and addressing both safety and security concerns
- Monitor security and fire alarm system.
- Conduct routine inspection of key assets and locations within the facilities through roving patrols, both inside and outside perimeter of the facilities.
- Assist employees and visitors as needed with safety and security issues, as well with directions and general guidance regarding locations throughout the facility.
- Appropriately document any significant security and safety incidents.
- Provides support to all shifts as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills, able to speak clearly and calmly in any given situation.
- Must provide a corporate appearance.
- General computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Capable of providing specific direction to others with regard to compliance with rules and regulations of the facility, particularly with regard to the entry and exit procedures.
- Requires the ability to take charge and provide clear direction to all visitors and employees in the event of a safety or security related situation (i.e. fire or emergency evacuation).
- Requires an average level of physical fitness, ability to move items if required.
- Must have the physical and mental capability to become involved in a physical altercation if necessary to prevent an assault, and handle a disruptive or combative employee or prevent an unauthorized entry.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work all shifts, including overnight.
Required Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement, EMS, Military or Corrections experience is a preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and functions.
- Knowledge of Access Control systems and functions.
