ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain explosive safety standards for hazard class/division and storage compatibility groups for assigned areas.
- Conduct location surveys prior to established inventories.
- Perform inventories utilizing count sheets as provided by supervisor.
- Assist in determining reasons for overages, shortages, or misplaced items.
- Update magazine data cards with inventory results using IAW established procedures.
- Use a computer terminal or other electronic device (e.g., a bar code scanner) to record receipt, location, issue, and inventory information.
- Inspect facilities and notify work leader of need to submit work orders for required facility repair.
- Re-warehouse as required, segregate munitions when identified by suspension or restriction notices.
- Accept turn-in of ammunition residue and inspects residue and packaging materials.
- Separate expended brass and packing materials and identify and separate live rounds.
- Dispose of non-reusable, non-recoverable, non-wood packing materials after verifying they are inert. Screen and weigh expended brass and packing materials. Operate deformer to crush expended brass.
- Operate electric, gasoline, or diesel powered forklift trucks in order to lift loads weighing under 6,000 pounds and as high as 168 inches. The forklift is operated to load/unload, transfer, transport, stack/unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates, merchandise, materials, and supplies from one location to another. May drive forklift over wood, concrete, or similar type floors through narrow aisles in ammunition magazines, buildings, warehouse facilities, and occasionally outside over rough surfaces.
- Oversees work of Ammo Drivers.
- Maintains time cards, leave requests and schedules for Ammo Drivers
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Acceptable driving record.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Ability to read maps and follow written directions.
Required Experience
- Must be able to obtain a government driver’s license to include a forklift license and provide proof of accident avoidance training.
- Three years of experience as a warehouse specialist and ammunition handler.
- Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance per army regulation for data systems access
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:
As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. Must be able to gain access to US military installations. Valid Driver’s license, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving record required. Reliable transportation to/from work a necessity.
