Route orders daily in compliance with the transportation route guide; ensuring timely execution to meet the requested arrival date and secure carrier capacity ahead of the competition
Operate the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route orders, track carrier performance and troubleshoot any loads that may be at risk of missing Requested Arrival Date
Ensure all new orders comply with AT&T guidelines on weight and method of shipment
Coordinate Customer Pick-Up (CPU) scheduling with customer carriers
Escalate any trending customer-driven delivery issues to customer
Manage load consolidation sailing schedule
Execute urgent/expedite orders flawlessly while minimizing financial impact
Coordinate all functions related to on-time Less than truckload (LTL) shipment
Collaborate with Inventory and Operations teams on returns and BOL needs
Schedule appointments in WMS on all loads; working with the DC manager and/or third party facility manager on dock capacity scheduling
Work with drop carriers to maintain trailer pool
Work with Customer Supply Chain (CSC) on delivery scheduling issues
Work with the appropriate parties on loads not scheduled by end of period.
Review previous day's dock schedule to ensure all orders shipped, if not, reschedule
Advise shipping office of any special shipping requirements
Communicate daily yard check to appropriate carriers
Cross train to support other distribution center functions
All other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Two or more years of experience in transportation operations
A degree in transportation or logistics is preferred, but not required
Demonstrate understanding of logistics supply chain systems
Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook, and a Warehouse Management System
Must work and participate effectively in a team environment
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with carriers, customers (both external and internal) and distribution operations
Timely and effective verbal and written communications
Highly self-motivated and self-managed, with excellent prioritization and organization skills
Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, to all levels of management
