PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This person will provide a variety of maintenance related activities including routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, machinery building, mechanical maintenance, and electrical work. They will also be involved in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of transfer presses and automation equipment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshooting all problems of mechanical, electrical, and electronic nature.
- Install new machinery and equipment.
- Build and repair machine control panels.
- Perform mechanical maintenance when required.
- Incorporate new technologies into or as a replacement for existing machine capacities, including, but not limited to, PLC and sensor applications and installations.
- Troubleshooting all PLC problems with laptop computer.
- Rewiring the presses.
- Perform emergency machine electrical repairs.
- Order machinery parts or components from outside sources, including plumbing, hardware, electrical, and mechanical supplies.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining a data base of all machine parts by press size.
- Troubleshooting vision systems and program cameras.
- Troubleshooting servo motors.
- PMs as needed.
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance support for all stamping, tool room, assembly and ancillary equipment.
- Cross training and serving as a backup for Maintenance Technicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a mechanically related role.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, or prints.
- Familiarity with lube systems.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum three years of experience with PLC troubleshooting.
- Minimum three years of experience in a maintenance position.
- Possess knowledge of AC and DC vari-drive controls and motors.
- Ability to write programs on Mitsubishi PLC’s and Allen-Bradley.
- Experience purchasing machine parts.
